Technology

One to One Devices

IPS provides all children with a device to use at school (and at home as needed). The Lab Schools believe technology is a useful tool for education and recognizes technology as one of the Hundred Languages. Students and teachers are encouraged to use technology to research, create, document, and access course materials. Learning through hands on, multi-sensorial, and social-construction of knowledge though shared experiences and discourse is integral in what we do. Use of online learning platforms should be limited during the school day (students typically spend about 30 minutes on learning platforms per day).

All student apps can be access through Clever. Students will use their student ID login and personalized password to login on their school device.

Frequently used apps:

Schoology (gradebooks and asynchronous assignments)

Lexia (adaptive reading app)

DreamBox (adaptive math app)

Xello (social-emotional learning app)

Destiny Discover (shared library app)

In IPS, every child has a free library card for Indianapolis Public Libraries. You may check out books and ebooks through the DestinyApp on your child's device and they will be delivered to the school. All public library books may be returned through the school as well.
